Iva Lindekugel,long time Hazen resident , passed away on March 30, 2012 at her residence. Iva was born in Lakeside, Oregon on January 4, 1930 and raised in Idaho until graduating high school.Soon after graduating she met and started dating Arthur Lindekugel, getting married 2 years later. She worked several different jobs early in their marriage. They moved to Henderson, NV. where she went to work as a dental assistant. Iva and Arthur were blessed with their first child, a son Gary. She enjoyed motherhood and raising a family. The little family moved to Getchal, NV. were they were blessed with a second son, Robert. Because of the toxic chemicals used in the mines, they again moved to a healthier enviroment bringing them to Fernley were the family took roots and settled in Hazen where they spent the rest of their marriage together.
Iva worked for the postal service as a carrier, delivering to Dixie Valley and the outlying areas. She also worked as a private home care giver. Iva enjoyed bowling and was on the women league for a few years.She also enjoyed raising a garden and canning fruit from their orchard, filling the family cellar yearly and many times sharing her bounty with neighbors and friends.There was never a neighbor or friend whom if needed help that she woundn't come to offer her assistance with a smile and a helping hand. Iva was blessed with 49 years of marriage before loosing her husband to illness. She was filled with life as she spent the last 12 years watching her grandchildren grow. Preceded in death by her son, Gary amd husband, Arthur. Iva is survived by her son, Robert; grandchildren, Tharon; Alexandria; Chandler and Christian; great-grandchildren, Jamie and Malorie.
A Gathering to Celebrate Iva's life will be held on Saturday, April 14, 2012 at 11:00 A M at The Gardens Chapel in Fallon. Inurnment will be private at Churchill County Cemetery.
